Raised in Bernie, Missouri, a small mid-American farming town, where one single caution light marks the center and a traffic jam is two cars creeping behind a combine, Becky Dennington grew up a member of a tight-knit community of about 2000 people. Today, after 35 years, she still resides in her hometown. Married to her best friend for 16 years, mother to a son and a daughter, she has enjoyed working as a nail technician for the last 11 years in a little building shaped like a barn.
In July of 2010, Becky’s life took a difficult turn when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Having the heart of a writer, she found comfort in documenting her journey by starting a blog. Deep Thoughts by Beck began as a way for Becky to process her thoughts and feelings of dealing with the stress of a cancer diagnosis. She soon found it was a wonderful way to keep family and friends updated on the progress of her treatments and in time, was blessed to see that it began to encourage women she knew to be more proactive in early detection.
Becky’s blog has now taken the shape of her first published work, Me and the Ugly C. Today, as well as being a breast cancer survivor, she happily adds author to her list of accomplishments.
Becky’s book will be released October 2011. All LazyDay Publishing proceeds will be donated to www.18ForeLife.com
Stay tuned to hear more about a fantastic new and upcoming Author.
