The Future of Storytelling

It still amazes me how quickly technology is taking over.  I remember the days of having to use encyclopedias to work on my school reports.  Internet wasn’t even a concept.  Everything has changed and continues to change at a rapid speed.  Sometimes the change is good, and sometimes the change is bad.  When it comes to the world of publishing, I think the changes are great and continue to even get better!  Many would disagree with me, and some will cautiously agree.

The e-book has come a long way in a very short amount of time.  Leaders in the digital industry, such as Ellora’s Cave, have brought new respect to a format once frowned upon.  Authors now trust their manuscripts to digital publishing.  Readers are able to get a digital book with ease thanks to the several e-readers available.  Traditional print publishers are changing their business models to adapt.  Authors now have more options and a higher chance of getting published.

Romance and Erotica has found a home in the digital world.  But other genres haven’t reached that place quite yet.  That is why we are so excited about LazyDay Publishing!  We will bring more than just Romance and Erotica.  We want to see all the creativity that is out there, but doesn’t quite fit into the mold set by traditional publishers.  We are so excited for the future of storytelling!

The Beginning…

LazyDay Publishing is no longer an idea.  It is no longer a concept or discussion.  LazyDay Publishing is no longer a dream.  As of today, LazyDay Publishing is a new and exciting business.  LazyDay Publishing is real!

The reality that this business has taken the first big step into the world of digital publishing is a little scary, a little intimidating and a little overwhelming.  But more than anything we are ready!    We can’t wait to read all the untold masterpieces that are out there.  We are eager to sink our teeth in to an ever changing publishing world.

My business partners and I have opened several businesses in our career.  I guess you could say we are true entrepreneurs.  Each business was different in the beginning stages.  Each business had different hurdles and different challenges. Each business was our baby that we nurtured and grew to become a successful mature entity.  LazyDay Publishing is still our baby, and we love every moment of its creation.  As with any new business, we cherish these beginning moments when everything is fun, creative and rewarding.  We can’t wait to see LazyDay Publishing grow its wings on December 1, 2010!  We will launch with an arsenal of excellent books.  We will spread throughout the internet and we will land in the hands of our readers!  We can’t wait!
